    Professor Dr. Zainal Abidin Mohamed is a professor at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM). He was a former professor in management and the Dean of the Graduate School of Management at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). He holds a Bachelor degree in Agricultural Science (Malaya, 1974), MBA (Wisconsin, 1976) and PhD (Edinburgh, 1988).

    Professor Dr. Zainal is active in teaching, advisory and research activities in the areas of strategic management, supply chain, innovations and entrepreneurship. He had held several administrative positions in UPM and at Universiti Utara Malaysia (while on secondment in 1999-2002).

    He is also an active trainer/coach in EDP programmes for in-house training at organisations such as MAS, PETRONAS, MAYBANK, TELEKOM, PORT KLANG AUTHORITY as well as public departments and SMEs. He has twenty-eight publications in the form of three books, twelve chapters in books and the rest in academic journals. Zainal is President of the Case Writers’ Association of Malaysia (CWAM) since 2003.

    Lee Meng Foon is the Deputy President of the Case Writers’ Association of Malaysia (CWAM) since 2006. She is a former Deputy Director and Head of the Leadership Centre of the National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN), Malaysia. She was responsible for the development of the ASEAN Resource Centre for Case Studies (ARCCS) at INTAN from 1997 – 2004. She was an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer (PTD) with the government of Malaysia for thirty-two years prior to her retirement. She is currently a member of the executive committee of the Alumni Association of the Administrative and Diplomatic Service of Malaysia (PTD Alumni).

    She is a senior management consultant with more than thirty-five years of training experience and has previously worked as a consultant/technical adviser in Cambodia, Botswana, Myanmar, Vietnam, Thailand, Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Timor Leste, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Seychelles, and the Philippines. She has been involved in consultancy projects with international agencies such as the World Bank, European Union (EU), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Commonwealth Secretariat, Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA), Asia Development Bank (ADB), and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

    Her academic qualifications include M.B.A from the University of Wisconsin, USA; Bachelor of Economics (Hons), University of Malaya; Diploma in Management Science, INTAN; and Certificate in Public Finance, University of Manchester, United Kingdom.

    For outstanding public service to the country, she has received the Kesatria Mangku Negara (KMN) and the Ahli Mangku Negara (AMN) awards from His Majesty, the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong; as well as the Darjah Johan Negara (DJN) award from the Governor of Penang.

    Maheswari Kandasamy was attached to OUM International, Open University Malaysia where she was Professor at the Faculty of Education and Languages as well as Head of OUM International. She has served in several positions pertaining to capacity building for training and research innovation projects at the Ministry of Education Malaysia, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports Cambodia, the National University of Laos, the Ministry of Education Maldives, the Ministry of Education Sri Lanka, the Open University of Sri Lanka, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education Bangladesh, Ministry of Education and Training Vietnam and the Bangladesh Computer Council under the World Bank, UNESCO, UNDP and EU. In these organizations she has examined the processes and procedures of curriculum review and revision, recommended the periodicity of and mechanisms for curriculum review and development and recommended strategies for strengthening the capacity for in-house curriculum development, covering staff development, status, strength and composition of the curriculum division. At the same time she has designed and delivered in-country training for MOE and University staff on procedures for monitoring project implementation and conducting monitoring and evaluation activities.

    Her academic qualifications include B.A. (University of Auckland, New Zealand); Diploma in Education (University of Auckland); M.A.(Hons.)(University of Auckland); Ph.D. (University of New England, Australia).

    She has been engaged by many training institutions such as the Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM), Centre for Research and Education for South East Asian Central Banks (SEACEN), Malaysian Central Banks Training Centre, National Productivity Centre and the Centre for Modem Management Sarawak to develop and conduct management training and development initiatives for their clientele. Also hired by some companies as an independent consultant to conduct needs analyses and perform in-depth evaluations, especially in the management of human resource management. These led to the setting and/or reviewing and related functional strategies in line with corporate missions and objectives, and allowed for the development of the greater communication processes.

    She has also been involved in the education of practising managers in their efforts to obtain their Bachelor in Business Management (twinning programme Malaysian Institute of Management and Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology), Diploma in Management/Supervisory Skills and External Diploma programmes. For her contributions, she was awarded the Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM) Resource Person Award in 1996.

    Dr. Ahmed Razman Abdul Latiff is the Senior Lecturer and Manager of Community Development & Impact of Putra Business School (PBS). He is also in charge of Entrepreneurship in PBS. He holds a Bachelor Degree of Accounting and Finance (Honours) from Lancaster University, United Kingdom, a Master Degree of Accounting from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and a Master Research Degree in Accounting and Financial Management from Lancaster University, United Kingdom. He also holds a PhD in Corporate Governance from Liverpool John Moores University, United Kingdom. He has been instrumental in developing the MBA curriculum that infuses Human Governance at PBS.

    He has presented and published numerous papers at various conferences and journals as well as been awarded various research grants. He has successfully supervised more than 70 students of PhD, MSc and MBA. He is also an Associate Member of Malaysian Institute of Accountants. Since 2012, he has been appointed as one of the Intellectual Properties Evaluation Panel for Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), which involves in identifying the potential commercialization of UPM inventions. He is currently in the board of directors of a startup specializing in technological products in healthcare. Since 2012 until now, he is one of the Nominating Committee Member representing Malaysia for the Asian Entrepreneurship Award based in Japan. As a regular commentator in radio programs and TV talk shows, he has been passionate about a very wide range of interests including accounting, economics, finance, entrepreneurship, human governance, corporate governance and ethics.

    He is the Vice President (Finance) of the Case Writers’ Association of Malaysia as well as the Editorial Board member of Asian Journal of Case Research. He has published nine case study articles in reputable journals and authored many journal articles, chapter in books and magazine articles. He was also one of the case writers for various organisations such as Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, Malaysian Institute of Accountants, Association of Intellectual Property Owners and Tabung Haji. He has also provided consultations to TEKUN Nasional, SEED, Prime Minister’s Office, Razak School of Government, Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia and National Audit Department and trainings to MCMC, MAPIM, UPM, Yayasan Bank Rakyat and TLDM. He is the Chief Examiner of Corporate Governance for The Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.

    Ruhana Busu was formerly a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty Economics and Management (FEP), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). Prior to this she was attached to the Rubber Research Institute of Malaysia for 10 years.     Ummi Salwa Ahmad Bustamam is attached to the Faculty of Economics and Muamalat, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) since 2006. Currently she is a senior lecturer at the Faculty and also the Director of Students’ Entrepreneurship Development Centre at USIM. Born in Selangor and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) at Universiti Utara Malaysia in 2003, she pursued an MBA at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2005 before obtaining her PhD in strategic management from La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia in 2012. Her academic, research, training and advisory activities has been focused on strategic management related areas as in entrepreneurship, growth strategies of small businesses and their linkages. She consistently provides case study training for Majlis Peperiksaan Malaysia (MPM), universities as well as industries such as ILMIA and NIOSH. She was one of the team members for developing a Case Teaching Module for Akademi Pengajian Tinggi Malaysia (AKEPT) and also one of the committee members of the Case Writers Association of Malaysia (CWAM). As an academic, she has published articles in local and international journals, attended and presented papers in local and international conferences and had also won several awards for Best Case Study in conventions and competitions.

    Dato’ Dr. Muhamad is currently the Vice President Academic, Universiti Sains islam Malaysia (USIM). He obtained his Ph.D in Business Adminstration from Manchester Business School, University of Manchester, United Kingdom (1994), and a Master in Business Admintration (MBA) (1984) and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) (1979) from the United States. He also has a Diploma in Banking (UiTM, 1977) and obtained a Certificate in Advanced Bank Management (Asian Institute of Management (AIM), Manila, Phillipines – 1980).

    He has been an academia for over 25 years, starting with the National University of Malaysia (UKM) and currently, with USIM (formerly KUIM). He is also the founding Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Muamalat, USIM. In UKM, he had held the post of the Dean of the Faculty of Business Management, Deputy Dean (Students Affairs) and Head of the Finance Department. Prior to joining the academia, he was Banking Officer and Money Market Officer at two reputable merchant banks in Kuala Lumpur.

    He has vast experience in the Islamic banking industry, having sat on the Board of Directors in BIMB Holdings Berhad (1997-2005), a company listed in the KLSE, and also in its wholly-owned subsidiary Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (1996 – 2005). During the tenure in BIMB Group, he also chaired or sat as member of the various board’s committees including the Risk Management Committee, Remuneration Committee, Internal Audit Committee, and Search Committee. He was instrumental in the setting-up and organizing the risk management framework and department in the Bank. He had also sat on the Investment Committee of a state unit trust company (total funds RM130 mil.) and the National Council for the Coordination of Baitulmal and had acted as Chairman of the KUIMKoop, a cooperative organization for the University staff.

    He has written a number of books and journal articles, and has presented more than 60 working papers in conferences and seminars, locally and overseas. In USIM, Dr. Muhamad was instrumental in the establishment of the Faculty of Economics and Muamalat (FEM) and the introduction of the degree programmes in Islamic Economics and Muamalat Administrations.

    Besides teaching and supervising research at the University – both at the graduate and undergraduate level, he is also actively involved in consultancy projects, as well as facilitating seminars and training in the public and private sectors. He is a sought after speaker in corporate valuation and personal financial planning and investments, and strategic management. He is also an expert in case writing. His main research interest is in banking, investments and financial services, particularly on the strategic planning and implementation pursued by the financial institutions and SMEs. His latest projects are in corporate management cases, risk management and product structuring in Islamic banking, personal financial planning and the socio-economic change among Malaysians.

    Hossein Nezakati (Ph.D.) was born in Iran (1964). He graduated in Experimental Sciences (1983); Achieved to be selected as Pilot Cadet in Iranian Air force for two years (1985); Bachelor Degree in English Translation (1992); Master Degree in International Marketing (2000) and Ph.D. in Marketing Management (2004). He interred in the world of Management and Business as General Manager in one of the pioneer continuous paper manufacturing company in Iran (1991-1997). He built a strong relation with different Chamber of Commerce, NGOs, academic and non academic foundations as committee and council member. He had a precious opportunity to made Business Solution Consultancy with more than 30 top level companies in Iran and Middle East as Deputy of public relations and Board of Directors Consultant in Industrial Managers Association of Iran (2002). The Industrial Managers Association (1979) is now becoming the biggest association regarding to privet sector party, with more than 2000 members. Hossein started his lecturing in Management, Marketing, International Business and Human resource courses in different Institutes and Universities (1997). He is a Faculty member of Central Tehran Branch and in four other Islamic Azad University branches in Iran and invited as part time or visiting lecturer (2002). Hossein was the Chairman of Interview Committee for Islamic Azad University (IAU) and Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) of Cyprus joint Programme at Ph.D. level and M.S. Degree (2006). He was Academic Deputy Dean in Faculty of Economics and Management, Tehran Central Branch, Islamic Azad University (2009).

    He has promoted his international academic career by moving to Malaysia and joining with University Putra Malaysia as Senior Lecturer (2009-16). He honored different prizes and awards such as Excellent Service Award in UPM (2012), Residence Pass – Talent (RP-T) by Royal Government of Malaysia (2015). His consultant groups in University – SME corporation programme took first prize and awards in UPM (2010-16). Hossein has more than 100 academic publications and participating in almost 130 final year projects, dissertations and theses as Supervisor, Committee member, Mentor, Reader and Examiner. He is collaborating with more than 20 international journals as Reviewer or editor (2008).

    He has a lot of experiences as Conference organizer, Training programmer, scientific and technical committee member (2002). He was invited by many conferences, Seminars and workshops as lecturer and Key tone speaker in different countries such as Australia (2009), USA (2015). He was involving in accreditation audit of UPM-Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) programme (2012).     Raja Nerina Raja Yusof received her Ph.D. in Management from the University of Otago, New Zealand in 2010. Her research interest is in the area of International Business Management focusing on multinational corporations, Islamic business practices, cross-cultural management and international marketing.

    She is a Committee Member in the Case Writing Association of Malaysia (CWAM) EXCO and is actively involved as a facilitator for case writing workshops under CWAM. She serves as an Associate Editor for the Asian Journal of Case Research (AJCR) and has been writing cases for journals, case books and case study consultations for organizations such as CEDAR (SME Bank) and Lembaga Tabung Haji (Pilgrims Fund Board). Raja Nerina has also authored and co-authored books and journal articles especially in the area of halal management, international business and marketing.

    Raja Nerina started her career in year 2000 as a Tutor in the Faculty of Economics and Management, Universiti Putra Malaysia. Currently, she is a Senior Lecturer at the faculty.

    Haslinda Hashim is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Management and Marketing, Faculty of Economics and Management, as well a Research Associate at the Institute for Social Science Studies in University Putra Malaysia. She is an alumna of Lancaster University, United Kingdom, where she earned her doctorate in Marketing in 2011. She received her MBA from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and her Bachelor Science degree in Agribusiness from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). Her main area of research is in the field of consumer behavior, where her interest lies in areas such as gender and consumption and generational consumption amongst others. Sr. Dr. Mohamad Ridzuan bin Yahya is a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture, Planning and Surveying, Universiti Teknologi MARA specialising in multi-disciplinary areas such as Facilities Management, Building Management System, Building Pathology, Building Space Audit, Building Access Audit, Therapy Techniques in Counseling.

    He has received Professional Competency Certification of several Professional institutions such as Building Surveyor of Royal Institution Surveyor Malaysia; Professional Facility Manager Professional Facility Manager of Malaysian Institute of Property and Facility Managers; Technologist of Malaysia Board of Technologists; NNLP Practitioner, NNLP Master Practitioner and NNLP Certified Trainer of NNLP Society USA; Dianetics Practitioner of Dianetics Centre Indonesia; and Certificate in NLP Therapy Technics of Akademi Persatuan Kaunselor Pendidikan Malaysia.

He also actively involved in research related to Building Maintenance and Facilities Management area as well as in collaboration with Biotechnology and Architecture areas.     Dr. Noor Azryani Auzairy is a senior lecturer at the Centre of Global Business and Digital Economy, Faculty of Economics and Management, UKM. She obtained her BBA in Finance from Lamar University, Texas, USA, MBA in Finance from International Islamic University Malaysia, and PhD in International Finance from University Malaya. She has been teaching International Finance, Corporate Finance, Financial Management and some other business courses throughout her academic career of 27 years in both public and private institutions. Case analysis and case writing have been the core teaching methods applied in her Corporate Finance and International Finance classes. She obtained her 1st Case Teaching certificate in 2014.

    She has numbers of local and international journal articles publication, conference proceedings and research grants. Her research focuses on International finance, financial behavior and financial technology. Dr. Noor Azryani is also a former Deputy Executive Director (Property Management) of Khazanah UKM, Manager of Tun Ismail Ali Chair (PNB) at UKM, Chairman of 19th MACFEA National Seminar, Taylor’s ADP Program Representative, and Taylor’s Head of Business Department.

    Suzana Md Samsudi is a Fellow at the Center for Economics and Social Studies, Institute of Islamic Understanding Malaysia (IKIM). She has over two decades of combined industrial and academic experience in finance and business areas. She holds a BBA (Honours) (Finance) from UiTM and Master of Economics from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. She also holds a Certified Financial Planner qualification, previously worked in Islamic fund management companies and was awarded ‘Top 300 Most Influential Women in Islamic Business and Finance’ (2021) by Cambridge IFA. She appeared regularly in IKIM radio and her writings have been published in major newspapers in Malaysia as well as academic journals. As for case writing, it started with her first article which was published in the Integrated Muamalat Case Study (by USIM) back in 2013.
